The Reckoning is a fast-paced, combat-focused Wild West solo game set in the harsh frontier of the 1870s New Mexico Territory. The rules are easy to learn, so you can start playing immediately.

It’s a one-shot point crawl game that doesn’t require any mapping. Just a few d6 dice and you’re ready to go. Combat is quick and deadly – the desert waits to claim you as it has countless others before.

Get torn to pieces on your first go-round, then try another plan. The end of the book has a full page of tactical tips and tricks to help you along.

Also, there’s plenty of info here to set up your own shoot-outs and combat situations.

From the intro:

New Mexico, 1870

This is a land carved from violence and desperation.

The war is over, but the killing never stopped – some say it never will. There is no mercy for man, woman, or child here. All live just one step away from the grave.

You’re fueled by vengeance and hate. A single name echoes in your mind – “Devil” Henry Boone.

You had a family once, but Boone and his gang took all that away. They could have just stolen your horses and left. That could be forgiven.

But they shot everyone and left you for dead. You buried what was left of your Pa and little sister near the burned-out farmhouse.

Then you waited, clinging to life and sweating with fever.

You prayed for death, hoping it would end the nightmare Boone created. But it did not take you. So you vowed revenge instead.

As soon as you could ride, you began tracking him.

His trail of violence led you to the run-down mining town of Palo Seco, NM. A place known for lawlessness, corruption, and vice.

Just the sort of place Boone might hide out...

All that's left to do is design your character and make sure Boone pays for what he did. Good luck, gunslinger - you'll need it.

All of the artwork in this game is from hand-carved block prints.
